Vanity, Variety and Value in Valencia

In Valencia, your vanity will be extremely satisfied with the variety of shopping choices to be had, all at prices that puts new meaning to the term value for your money.  Yes, indeed, Valencia offers more than its world-famous seafood dish paella and meat slices tapas to the intrepid tourist.  Valencia is also about shopping, shopping and more shopping!

But before you seek to find shopping value and variety in Valencia, we suggest looking for value and variety in the Valencia apartments available for booking online in the city.  You want to look at the many types of holiday apartment rentals accommodations available and then choose the one that offers the best value for your money.

Also, just like most shops across Spain, we suggest respecting the Spanish siesta from 2 to 4 in the afternoon.  Shops are closed although you can take a stroll through town, if you can take the sweltering heat of the midday sun, that is.

Satisfy Your Vanity

Admittedly, Valencia is a long way from being the fashion capital of Spain, much less of Europe.  You cannot deny, however, that the people of Valencia have the sense of style the Spanish people have in great abundance.  Going out into the streets of Valencia, you are treated to the sight of locals truly making every effort possible to look good even in their casual clothes.

Thus, you should be able to find both international and national haute couture shops in the department stores, shopping malls and specialty boutiques in the city and its surrounding areas.  You can also purchase jewelry, shoes and other personal accessories from imported brands.

We suggest Calle Jorge Juan by Mercado Colon, Calle Colon, Calle don Juan Austria for your vanity.  These are the so-called high streets where name brands flourish.

Variety Like No Other

Keep in mind that Valencia is the capital city of the Autonomous Community of Valencia.  Thus, you can expect many merchants, traders and manufacturers to place their products in the countless shops and stores in the city.  Of course, this means that Valencia offers a sheer variety of goodies for every preference and budget.

We suggest heading to the Mercado Central on the Plaza del Mercado.    Aside from its architecture, the shopping experience definitely beats having to jostle in sterile malls what with its stained glass windows in a grand railway ambience.  You can purchase every food imaginable on the Spanish plate, be it saffron, bomba rice and Marcona almonds.

And then there is the open-air market of the Plaza Redonda.  Vendors hawk traditional Valencian handicrafts such as silver works, ceramics, ironwork, inlaid parquetry as well as crafts from the surrounding countryside, even from Morocco.  The best streets for variety in Valencia include Plaza del Ayuntamiento, Calle Don Juan de Austria and, of course, Calle Colón.

Value for Your Money

The best tip for getting value for your money in Valencia is to get a Valencia card.  Essentially, this is a discount card acceptable in many of the city's shops as well as providing for unlimited city transportation.

And so, starting today, plan your trip to Valencia and shop to your heart's content, all without ripping a hole in your pocket the size of the City of Arts and Sciences site

Don't forget to visit Valencia beach is one of the best attractions in this beautiful city.
